and the bards quickly started to play their lutes and harps. Even
though I tried my best to hear it, it sounded like a silent guitar

sound. The music played continually without change. The same

rhythm of a few minutes repeated itself. As the bards continued

with the sweet ear torture, one of the faceless men on the opposite

side of the room, came up to me. He wore a burgundy cloak, with

diamond engravings, his red hat had a feather attached to it.

“I would like to grant you my deepest gratitude for saving us

all, sir!” he started to conversation.

“All I did was to leave a reptile lifeless,” I didn’t hear my own

voice. My tongue moved, and the man in front of me understood.

“You are humble, sir. By the decree of our king, you are a

nobleman now. Only a reflection of a beautiful goddess on earth

would be a fit for a humble, brave, and valiant young man like

         yourself.”

                “No, I cannot.”

“If you cannot do it now, then who will? All you have to do

is to go in front of our king and ask him to marry his daughter. I

would question the mind of any king, who would refuse a man as

valorous as you. A noble lady with beauty rivaling the stars could

only be matched with a lord with equal beauty like yourself.”

“No, you don’t understand. The reason for something like that

cannot happen is not the fear of rejection, it is because I do not

         know what would happen next.”

“You do know the best, my lord,” He greeted me with his head

and walked back to the crowd of the faceless. I gazed at the prin-

cess. She was the most beautiful dream that existent eyes can see in

the world on the non-existent. I sighed and thought of things that

never happened and will never happen.

The night was joyful. Then the opening sound of the door

unexpectedly tore me away from my dreams. I figured from
