hunter of divine d
escent, and great
beauty, and was
known for his charms
all over the Ancient
Greek world. Almost
everyone and all who
knew him longed to
be his, but he never
answered any of these
invitations of love affairs.
He harshly rejected all of
the lovers who were brave
enough to face his charm-
ing beauty. Besides all,
he was also, and maybe much more, known for his great pride.
This pride of his would one day harm him to a great extent.
The story of how Narcissus became a victim of his hubris – exces-
sive pride – traces back to Zeus, god of the heavens. As popular
as they are, the endless love affairs of Zeus have a minor anec-
dote in this story as well. Zeus had a major part in the amusing
face of the mythological storyline of Ancient Greece. He would
always have a secret escapade somewhere on Olympus or Earth
where Hera would never fail to trace his footprints to punish the
women starring in these escapades and make them suffer greatly.
On one of those days when Zeus, for the sake of love, left his
Olympus and came down to Earth to spend time with his beloved
nymphs and fairies, Hera followed him secretly to the forests of
Greece where he had his affairs. She stepped firm and traced Zeus
on the tiptoe as he was joyfully taken care of by the nymphs…
and at that exact bit of time when Hera caught Zeus god with
