         Day Dreams

Like butterfly wings in dreams they gleam,

Colors of delusion, vibrant, it seems.

Memories age me, or is it the thought,

Of dreams made real, battles quietly fought?

Stuck in dreams, like wings that flutter,

Fragmented mind, emotions in a clutter.
Belonging to you, or to a fleeting thought,

With each heartbeat, a story’s sought.

I’ll slumber now, where you reside,

In dreams, you’re with me, side by side.

Caress my hair, with tender grace,

Dreams weaving stories, time and space.

         Impossibilities, I know they be,

Yet I’ll dream on, wild and free.
